Bud Stockwell didn’t start out as a chocolatier. The co-owner of Cornucopia, a natural foods and supplements store, he had worked for over thirty years in the health food business and was ready for a new challenge when a friend persuaded him to buy some chocolate-tempering equipment from a near-by store that was going out of business. He was at first hesitant, but four days later he owned the entire chocolate-making inventory. Ready to learn the craft, he worked with another chocolatier and practiced for years until he had created chocolate to match his high standards.

Heavenly Chocolates opened across the hall from Cornucopia in 2007 and relocated upstairs on the first level of Thornes Marketplace in 2012. Bud develops his own recipes and he and an assistant handcraft the pieces at the Heavenly Chocolate factory. They prepare the chocolates in small batches to ensure freshness, using organic and local ingredients whenever possible. 
Heavenly Chocolates also sells a limited selection of carefully chosen top-quality American and European confections and chocolate bars.
